National

Brunei Darussalam's Gross Domestic Product, GDP, at constant prices recorded an increase of 0.03 per cent year-on-year in the third quarter (Q3) of 2025.

The Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, Ministry of Finance and Economy in its press release stated that the GDP rose from 4,875.3 million Brunei dollars in Q3 2024 to 4,876.8 million dollars.

The Oil and Gas Sector grew by 2 per cent, while the Non-Oil and Gas Sector registered a 1 point 8 per cent decline. The expansion of the Oil and Gas Sector in Q3 2025 was primarily driven by higher natural gas production following the resumption of operations after maintenance activities; and the increased production of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), supported by adequate gas supply. However, crude oil production declined due to both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.

The decline of the Non-Oil and Gas Sector was primarily attributed to a decline in the subsectors' performance, including Manufacture of Petroleum and Chemical Products; Government Services, Health Services and Construction.

At current prices, the economy in Q3 2025 stood at 4,778.2 million Brunei dollars, down from 5,011.4 million Brunei dollars in Q3 2024. The Non-Oil and Gas Sector accounted for 55.4 per cent. While, the Oil and Gas Sector contributed about 44.6 per cent.

By economic activities, the Industry Sector contributed, followed by Services Sector and the Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery Sector.
